Working With Your Insurance After Water or Fire Damage

Call (352) 678-7470

When water or fire damage leads to an insurance claim, clear documentation helps show what happened and what work was done. We document the damage and our work so you have records to share with your insurance company. Coverage depends on your policy and the cause of loss.

Is my damage covered?

Your insurance company or agent can tell you what your specific policy covers. Coverage and claim decisions remain with your insurance company.

Documentation we provide

  • Photos, and video when appropriate, of the damage and our work.
  • Moisture readings and moisture maps showing affected areas and materials.
  • Drying records comparing moisture readings with the project's documented drying goals.
  • A detailed, itemized estimate and invoice for the work we perform.

Working with your adjuster

With your authorization, we can:

  • provide our project documentation to your insurance company or adjuster;
  • answer the adjuster's questions about the work we perform;
  • communicate about our scope of work; and
  • meet the adjuster at the property when appropriate.

What to do first

  1. Stay safe. Do not enter areas with fire damage, standing water near electrical sources or other hazards until it is safe to do so.
  2. Help prevent further damage if it is safe to do so, for example by shutting off the water supply, and call us for emergency service.
  3. Report the loss to your insurance company or agent and ask about your policy and next steps.
  4. Document the damage with photos or video before items are moved, if it is safe to do so.
  5. Keep receipts for any emergency expenses.

What we will not do

  • We are not public adjusters and do not negotiate or settle claims. If you want someone to represent you in your claim, you can hire a licensed public adjuster or an attorney.
  • We do not ask you to sign over your insurance benefits.
  • You remain responsible for your policy deductible, and we do not offer to waive or absorb it.
  • We do not guarantee that your insurance will cover the loss or that your insurer will pay.

Payment

We accept credit and debit cards, checks, ACH bank transfers and cash.

You remain responsible for any charges that your insurance company does not pay.
