We handle it like any other water loss: emergency water extraction, structural drying, moisture measurement and documentation.

Safety after a fire

• Do not enter until fire officials say it is safe and building conditions allow safe entry.
• Take photos of the damage only when it is safe to do so.
• Keep the HVAC system off until it has been evaluated by an appropriate licensed HVAC contractor when fire or smoke may have affected the system.
• Avoid wiping soot or applying household cleaners to it. Wiping or inappropriate cleaning can smear or spread certain residues; see Smoke and soot cleanup.
• Do not use electrical appliances, outlets or utilities that may have been affected until a licensed electrician or the appropriate utility or authority has cleared them.
• Do not eat food that was exposed to heat, smoke or soot. For questions about medicines, ask your pharmacist or healthcare professional.

Repair and reconstruction work that requires a contractor license is performed by an appropriately licensed contractor of your choosing. We can coordinate our cleanup and drying work with your contractor.
